Visit from China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism
On Nov 7, 2019, the IP Institute and Fordham Law School hosted twenty-one delegates from China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Prof. Hansen and Prof. Sylvain gave an overview of current developments in U.S. intellectual property and information technology law, ranging from recent antitrust investigations over Facebook’s anti-competitive practices, Amazon’s market power and liability of online intermediaries for copyright infringements online. They had a fruitful discussion about China’s recent Copyright reform, including the Chinese government’s efforts to crack down on copyright infringements, anti-counterfeiting efforts in the U.S. and the FTC’s investigative powers.
