IP Institute hosts 2019 Copyright & Technology Conference
The Fordham IP Institute co-hosted the tenth annual one-day Copyright and Technology conference on January 16th, 2019 with Giant Steps Media and the Copyright Society of the U.S.A. The event focused on the influence of rapidly developing technologies on copyright in today’s digital age.
The Conference program included keynote speaker Paul Goldstein of Stanford Law School. He is the author of several books including two important copyright law treatises (Goldstein On Copyright and International Copyright: Principles, Law and Practice) and five novels, one of which (Havana Requiem) won the Harper Lee Prize for legal fiction. In addition, Regan Smith, General Counsel and Associate Register of Copyrights at the U.S. Copyright Office discussed several important initiatives relating to copyright and technology that the Office had recently been involved in.
