Copyright and Video Games
The IP Institute co-sponsored “Leveling Up in Video Game Copyright” with the Copyright Society of the U.S.A at Fordham Law School on May 30th, 2019, discussing recent developments and issues faced by IP owners in the gaming industry. The discussion focused on the use of tattoo art and dance choreography in video games and the challenges and risks in litigating cases.
The panel included Joshua Simmons, a partner at Kirkland & Ellis, Ben Golant, Chief Counsel for Intellectual Property Policy at the Entertainment Software Association in Washington, D.C., and Pete Welch, Senior Vice President at Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., and was moderated by Mavis Fowler-Williams, Principal.
